I’ve had the good fortune to coach Kate in field hockey since kindergarten in spring league and on our high school team from grade 8. Kate Is a pleasure to coach. She’s eager to improve, sees the field strategically and lifts others up around her. As a player she is incredibly fast, has good stick skills, a real ability to move around players and a drive for the net. I’ve seen her skills grown exponentially in the past few years as she’s brought her ice hockey prowess to her time on the pitch. On my teams she is consistently a starting forward but I know I can ask her to step in as mid or defence and she will more than hold her own.
She’s loved by her team mates and is an asset on the bench as well as on the field. Her ability to manage multi sports, deliver academically and give back to her community impresses me to no end. She would be an excellent asset as a player, team mate and scholar to any school fortunate enough to have her on their roster.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kate the past three years as part of the Handsworth Secondary School XC and T&F teams. Kate has been an integral part of both of those teams in her time so far at Handsworth.
Kate is a very talented runner. Her work ethic and competitive drive help fuel the outstanding results she has had. Her commitment to being a team player is also commendable. I know there are multiple sports that Kate juggles and her communication and commitment to ensuring she is at her best for each sport is admirable. It has been a pleasure having Kate on the team these past three years and I look forward to the next two years that Kate has left at Handsworth. She certainly brings value, fun and fire to the team!
